Temple Israel of Northern Westchester

With groups and activities ranging from Sisterhood, Brotherhood, Social Action and Youth Groups to pot-luck suppers, Temple Israel can serve you with dynamic services and programming but is small enough to get to know you and share a real sense of community.

Our clergy lead services, officiate at lifecycle events, teach, provide pastoral counseling and visit the sick. We are a caring community that shares in each other’s celebrations and reaches out in times of sadness. Our Caring Committee welcomes the participation of all members and our social action programs reflect our commitment to Tikkun Olam, the “repair of the world”.

Members are Jews by birth, Jews by choice and interfaith families. Our congregation offers diversity in membership and welcomes congregants of varying lifestyles and backgrounds. Whether you are seeking affiliation with a Jewish community or Jewish education for yourself or your family, Temple Israel of Northern Westchester is a place you can call home.

We invite you to join us. Welcome!

Some of our past special events

Watch slide shows from our 2006 Purim carnival, from 2006 Simchat Torah, from Rabbi Jaech's Installation and Ceremony and Celebration and from the special reception for Rabbi Ferris. Read about our Hanukkah carnival to benefit the Peekskill soup kitchen in The New York Times and in The Journal News here and here.

Read The Journal News article about Rabbi Jaech succeeding Rabbi Ferris and an article from the Westchester Jewish Chronicle about Rabbi Ferris and Rabbi Jaech.

Fifth Avenue was a sea of blue and white on June 1st, 2008, for the Salute to Israel Parade. Congregants from Temple Israel marched in the parade with people from other congregations belonging to NOW ISRAEL, the group of Northern Westchester synagogues.
