Helpful TINW Payment Information

How does each payment option work?

Pay by ACH-echeck: Choose "ACH-echeck". You will be asked to complete your bank account number and routing number (found on your paper checks). This creates an electronic check from your bank account to TINW and typically takes 1-2 days to process.  This method combines the ease of electronic payment with lower fees to TINW to process.

Pay by Credit Card: Choose "Credit Card". You will complete your credit card information. When using a Credit Card you will be asked if you would like to add the convenience fee (this is the fee charged back to TINW for accepting credit card payments).

*NEW*  Pay by Paper Check: If you prefer to pay your Membership Pledge using a paper check, please send all paper checks to:

Temple Israel of Northern Westchester
Attention: Robin Safarowic
31 Glengary Road
Croton on Hudson, NY 10520

**All paper checks MUST include a note indicating where these funds should be applied (e.g. Pledge 21-22, etc.)**

Where do I set up a payment plan?
  1. Before you choose your method of payment you can also choose how to split up your payments in the box labeled, "Pay This Amount"
  2. Clicking on the downward facing arrow inside the box will display the number of payments you can choose to make.
  3. Once you have chosen the number of payments you will be able to choose how often the payments should be made and when they should begin.

As always, we are here to help you and to answer any questions you may have, by phone or email.

2021 PLEDGE LETTER FROM TINW PRESIDENT

Shalom!

Thank you for all the support you provide our sacred community at Temple Israel throughout the year, financially and in every other way.

As we begin to reemerge from the past 15 months and look forward to the return to many aspects of our previous lives, we acknowledge that we are still in a challenging, stressful and confusing time as we continue to deal with the implications of the Coronavirus pandemic. We have all been affected in different ways. Our hearts go out to those who have lost some or all of their income, feel isolated, are or were sick, and especially those who lost loved ones.

Connecting Community

The TINW community is here to support you; please let the Rabbi, Robin, or me know what is happening in your life and how the Temple can help you. One of the crucial reasons our members join Temple Israel is to know they have a sacred community to lean on in stressful times. Please reach out for any reason.

Despite social distancing, our clergy, staff and volunteers continue to innovate and find ways to help and connect: Friday night services, Torah Study, CJL, lectures and concerts, pastoral care, and many more programs, events, and support continued despite social distancing. Thankfully, we are now able to allow congregants in the sanctuary on Friday nights, and we will continue to find ways to open the building safely. Payroll is our largest budget investment, and all our staff are actively working as hard as ever to maintain a vibrant community with multiple ways for each of us to connect, find meaning, and assist one another.

Investing in TINW

Your financial support is vital to maintaining Temple Israel- I can't say it more simply.

Even if you lost sight of the importance of TINW in your daily life or have just taken its continued existence for granted, now is the time to participate. From the robust online attendance of our programs I believe that we all feel a need for this connection now, more than ever.

We ask members to pledge the 2021 fair share amount of $2,900, in addition to the $97 security assessment here on our 2021-2022 Membership Pledge Form (you will need to Log In to your TINW.org account first). $2,900 is the minimum amount from each family to meet the Temple's essential financial requirements. This amount is not enough to cover all of the Temple's expenses. We gratefully accept more significant pledges from members who are interested in doing so. If you voted on this year's budget, you know that we need to find ways to increase our revenue; increased philanthropic support will close or eliminate budget gaps.

Our tradition teaches that all Jews are responsible for one another. Money should never impede membership. If membership is challenging at the full Fair Share Pledge amount, please complete the short Application for Financial Adjustment that is available within the 2021-22 Membership Pledge Form . If you received a reduction of fair share pledges in prior years, we ask you to increase your commitment this year if possible, even if only a little.

Our online payment system is easy to use and enables you to set the payment frequency of your choice. Please log into your account on tinw.org to pay by electronic bank transfers (ACH) or credit card. Contact Robin robin@tinw.org or 914.271.4705 x121 in the Temple Office for assistance. Your 2021-22 Membership Pledge and the first payment is needed before you can complete your children's enrollment in CJL for this fall (CJL Registration Form).

I look forward to meeting with you virtually or in-person soon. Please email me at steve@tinw.org with any thoughts or concerns about Temple life, now and throughout the year. On behalf of our entire community, I thank you for your financial commitment to Temple Israel, and for all the ways you show our community support.

L'Shalom,

Steve Samuels
