important Message From RAbbi WEndy Pein

March 13, 2020

Dear Friends,

We hope that you and your family are safe and healthy. We at TINW continue to monitor the quickly evolving situation with regards to COVID-19. We know that this is a challenging time for everyone, amid uncertainty and an increased sense of vulnerability.

With the best interest of our community at heart, we have made the decision to close CJL for this Sunday, March 15th. Our CJL Faculty will take this time to develop an online learning model for the CJL.

The following programs/trips have been canceled or postponed:

  • Kitah Dalet (4th grade) trip to the Bethel Nursing and Rehabilitation home on March 22 has been canceled.

  • The Kitah Hay (5th grade) trip to the Eldridge Street Synagogue on 3/29 has been postponed to next fall.

  • The K-3 Mock Seder on March 29 for families has been canceled.

Please continue to follow communications from us about upcoming CJL classes and programs. We continue to monitor the decisions of public schools in our area as well as the recommendations by the NYS Department of Health.

Please continue to practice the following common-sense hygiene guidelines:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer of at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
  • Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing with a tissue or elbow; discard tissues after single use.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

If you have any questions about COVID-19, call the Westchester County hotline: 211. They will have up-to-date information and guidance. NYS Department of Health also has a hotline: (888) 364-3065
