TINW code of Ethics
As a member of our sacred Temple Israel community, I acknowledge our shared commitment to treat all members and staff with respect and dignity. I pledge to hold myself to a high standard of ethical behavior. My commitment includes, but is not limited to, striving to promote transparency within TINW and maintaining the welfare of our sacred congregation as well as our Jewish traditions and values.
Accordingly, I will:
- Abide by all applicable local, state, and federal laws;
- Comply with all codes of conduct governing my business or professional affiliations, and avoid conflicts of interest between my personal, trade, or professional associations and Temple Israel;
- Take appropriate action if I witness inappropriate behavior in a colleague or congregant as specified in TINW's policies;
- Respect boundaries between adults, and between adults and children;
- Not use my authority as an officer, clergy, or staff, or my participation as a congregant at TINW, to treat anyone in the TINW community in ways that demean, harass, exploit, or otherwise cause physical, emotional, psychological, or financial harm;
- Conduct myself respectfully towards TINW property;
- Make every attempt to avoid even the appearance of wrongdoing.
TINW will ensure confidential access to reporting mechanisms for anyone who has experienced/is experiencing or has witnessed/is witnessing any of the above violations.
