MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT, STEVE SAMUELS
Shalom Friends,
The past year has continued to present challenges to all of us on many levels. As we rebound from this difficult period, and look ahead to our future, we must reassess what is most important to us and support those causes and institutions which most amplify our values.
In the past year TINW has worked on so many important initiatives:
- Return to in-person activities, celebrations and events in safe, controlled environments
- Return of CJL to safe, in-person education
- Technological upgrades to improve quality of streaming services and virtual programs
- Concerts to raise spirits through music and connection
- Programs and speakers to inform, motivate and entertain
- Study sessions to educate, reflect and engage
- Services to inspire and console
- Meaningful B'nai Mitzvah ceremonies
- Committees to ensure that our local neighbors & congregants are safe and fed
- Volunteer opportunities to clothe, house and feed the homeless
We hope that this short list reminds you that TINW is not just a place of worship but also a place of connection and community that shares your values. Please give generously to our 2021 Hanukkah-thon fundraiser if you can. Your gift will help ensure that Temple Israel remains a place of strength and solace for the Jews of Northern Westchester and our non-Jewish partners and allies, and one that betters our community.
This holiday season, we ask for your re-dedication to TINW; every gift, of every size, is received with gratitude and will help us to provide the support and resources needed to strengthen our sacred community. Contributions to 2021 Hanukkah-thon can be made here, on TINW.org, or delivered directly to Temple Israel (address below).
Thank you in advance for giving generously to Temple Israel and helping us do more to improve our community and beyond.
Here's to a brighter 2022!
L’Shalom,
Steve Samuels

Every year Brotherhood hosts a BBQ which is open and free to all the men of Temple Israel. For many years we've rented the very special setting of Senasqua Park right on the Hudson River in beautiful Croton on Hudson. It's a wonderful event which affords everyone an opportunity to meet and converse with not just the men of Brotherhood but also many others who are part of Temple Israel. Free food, great conversation and a beautiful setting...what could be bad! Please join us for a really fun evening. It begins at 6pm and we provide all the food and beverages. -
