Summary |
This was a hard weekend and I hope all of you feel free to reach out to our synagogue community for any support we can give.
We started our Yom Rishone in the sanctuary where the children were reminded that the synagogue is a place of community and safety and that sometimes police help us to feel secure.
We learned the letter Lamed, which looks like a lightning bolt, to add to SHIN, RESH, TAV, and Dalet.
We received booklets that the children can share with you with the three different names for our house of worship in Hebrew, all with the important word, Bait, house, in them. We learned about what is contained in our Bet Knesset, House of Gathering, including most importantly, the Torah.
We played , "Morah Bevakashah" to reinforce this weeks concepts.
In Hebrew through movement we practiced our Hebrew verbs and body parts. Morah Ariela played a game to try to trick us, and she feels we are ready to move to the next level! We reinforced these words later with a game of Shimon Omer, Simon Says.
Rabbi Jaech read us a book about Goblins that was playful and spooky. It is a reminder that even when we celebrate holidays like Halloween, Jewish people have a unique perspective and history.
Have a safe and healthy week,
Shavuah Tov,
Morah Devorah
