Dear Kitta Bet Families,
Here's the link for the Perfect Potluck.
https://www.perfectpotluck.com/meals.php?t=QNMJ7867
We will be having model seder next week starting at 10:30. Please sign up to bring something and join us for seder!! If you would like to help set up, and can meet in kitchen at 10:00, it would be very much appreciated.
This week at Temple Israel we began as always gathered in sanctuary. We sang our prayers beginning with our wake up prayer, Modeh or Modah Ani.
One of the songs we sing every week, Mi Kamocha is actually about one of the Passover miracles, the parting of the Red Sea. Todah to Morah Wendy for explaining the prayers to us!
When we got to class we created seder plates that we will have with us for model seder next week. ask your child if they remember any items from the seder plate.
We had a great discussion about what the hardest thing we each had ever done was and thought about how hard it was for Abraham and Isaac when God tested them. Although no one would be asked what Abraham was asked today, we talked about how sometimes we can sacrifice to benefit others.
We made Hebrew flash cards.
We sang Passover songs with the Cantor. You will hear some of these at model seder. The Cantor brought us a fun English version of Dienu. Toda, Cantor!
We joined Morah Ariela for Hebrew Through Movement. Besides Hamez- bread and other things we cannot eat on Passover , and Matzoh, we added these Passover words; Yoshvim and Mesubeen- Sitting and Reclining because one of our four questions is,"why do we recline on Passover?" As usual we learned while having the chance to move!
Todah rabbah Ariela!
Looking forward to having a meaningful and fun time at model seder next week. Todah in advance to everyone!
Shavuah Tov,
Morah Devorah
