Summary |
Dear Kitah Dalet families,
CJL students started the morning in sanctuary, waking up and warming up with Rabbi Pain and Cantor Lauren. We had some fun with Purim songs as we get ready to celebrate Purim ! We will celebrate the holiday next week with a mini Megillah and carnival ! Students should come to class in costume! It can be Purim related, pajamas, a team uniform or their favorite Halloween outfit!
In class, we continued our unit of study in the 4th book of the Torah, Bemidbar/Numbers. The book begins with Moses taking a census and counting all males over 20, able to bear arms. The students reflected on their own 9 year old journey and shared how they wold like to be 'counted' in their community.
As we get ready for Purim, we also had the chance to bake our own hamentachen! (See attached pictures of some very happy bakers!) The recipe is from REFORMJUDAISM.ORG if you are looking to make more! There are also a plethora of interesting recipes and articles about Purim on the site. https://reformjudaism.org/jewish-holidays/purim
Looking forward to sharing some Purim fun with kitah dalet!
l'shalom,
Morah Betsy
Shalom Kitah Dalet Parents,
In our 19th Ivrit session our intrepid Daletniks, who made it through the sloppy weather
- reviewed the meaning and context of V’Ahavta;
- practiced decoding the text from flashcards;
- reinforced their decoding and comprehension of the text at the learning stations;
- and received the new assignment, which breaks down some new vocabulary.
Please open the attachment if your child was absent.
Remember to help your child dress up in costume for our Purim celebration next Sunday! Teachers will also be in costume.
L’shalom,
Lane Chazdon
