Dear Kitah Dalet families,
*Class Trip: I want to take a moment to say KOL HAKAVOD to kitah dalet! Your visit last week to Bethel Springvale Nursing and Rehab brought joy and sunshine to the seniors in Croton! You sang beautifully and your personal visits with the seniors were a mitzvah! Mensches one and all! See pictures attached.
*We are starting to get ready for Pesakh/Passover! We reviewed the timeline of our matriarchs and patriarchs to see when the story of Moses and the Exodus occurs as we revisited Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, Jacob and Rebecca and Leah and Esau and Jacobs 12 sons! We retold the story of Joseph's rise to viceroy and the Israelites eventual journey to Egypt. We took some additional time to focus on the rare occurrence of heroines in the Torah! The students had the chance to think about the bravery of Jocheved/ Moses' mother, Miriam/ Moses' sister, Shifrah and Puah/ the midwives, and Batya/Pharaoh's daughter. Many students shared their own personal moments of bravery and we all agreed that courage is an important value to develop!
*We watched a fun video telling the Passover story featuring Technion students and their Passover Rube Goldberg !https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baQfqoZrEvI&t=43s
They also do a fun Passover Breakdance! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLDHbAvWgmI
* Cantor Lauren met with the daletniks to sing some Passover songs and practice our class Shabbat service song, Roll into Dark by Noam Katz. I am attaching a link to a video in case your child would like to practice a few times before Friday. Start at 1:15 to skip guitar instruction for the song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lt36LY62paM
*KITAH DALET POTLUCK AND SHABBAT PARTICIPATION is this Friday April 5th. Please be sure to respond to Roberta's email if you haven't yet.
