Dear Families,
This week we continued our study of Shabbat rituals & prayers. The Kiddush cups our students made last week are featured in the attached video of us chanting the Kiddush.
We're currently learning the candle blessing, and today our class made some very unique candlesticks that will be finished next week. Please ask your child to tell you about them. Also, if you know the Shabbat candle blessing, please sing or say it with your child.
You can ask your child to tell you the words that begin all of our blessings (Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu melech ha'olam...).
We emphasize our mitzvah curriculum each week when we sing "Mitzvah Goreret Mitzvah" (One mitzvah leads to another...)and have each student add a mitzvah he/she has done to our mitzvah board.
There are different types of mitzvot: an act that makes someone else feel good, being a good student (the mitzvah of learning), or celebrating Shabbat and holidays. We all do mitzvot every day, often without even thinking about it!
Please talk with your child about a mitzvah or two that he/she can add to our mitzvah board each Sunday.
Today we had Hebrew Through Movement early and ended the day with a session with Rabbi Jaech downstairs, a change that took place just this morning. Thank you for being flexible about pick up. Next week, we'll be back to the regular session, ending upstairs in Morah Ariela's classroom.
Please enjoy the attached photos of our students creating candlesticks.
Have a wonderful week!
