Dear Parents:

This week we learned about Chanukah, the story of Chanukah and had a discussion about how we are thankful to the Maccabees today as Jewish people. We are celebrating our people’s bravery and determination to continue living as Jews. We recognized the symbols of Chanukah and understand what they represent. We learned the Hanukkah blessing.

Hebrew: The children reviewed reading the letters we learned so far with the vowels Kamatz ( ָ ), Pathach ( ַ ), and Chirk ( ִ ). כ, ל, מ, נ . We learned some Shabbat Hebrew vocabulary שַׁבָּת Shabbat, Challah כַּלָה, חַלָה bride , לֶחֶם bread. Please help your child practice the Hanukkah blessing using the link below.
