About the Speaker:
Nate Silver was named one of the world's 100 most influential people by Time in 2009 after an election forecasting system he developed successfully predicted the outcomes in 49 of the 50 states in the 2008 presidential election. Nate established  FiveThirtyEight.com, which takes its name from the number of electors in the U.S.  electoral college, in 2008. It was affiliated with the NY Times until its acquisition by the Disney corporation, owner of  ESPN and ABC News in 2013. He recently started The Silver Bulletin, which focuses on essays and analysis on elections, media, poker, sports and all the other things Nate cares about deeply.
