As the war in Israel against Hamas continues, we stand with Israel in this war of self-defense and will continue to lend support and strength, serve as allies, and unite the collective prayers of our congregation and the Westchester Jewish community for the safety and security of Israel. There are no words to capture the enormity of lives lost, hostages taken, and injuries incurred by civilians and the military.  We are deeply saddened at the suffering of Palestinians caught in the war against Hamas and mourn the loss of innocent lives in Gaza.  May the time come quickly when no more innocent blood will be shed, and each dawn brings us reason to hope.

We believe that engagement with Israel includes engagement with the people, land, and state of Israel. It also includes discussion / engagement with Israel from various points of views.

The following are a list of ways to engage with Israel through Temple Israel of Northern Westchester:

Israel Engagement Committee

Six Months of Captivity: A Conversation with Rachel and Jon Goldberg-Polin

April 17th at 12:00 PM ET

Rachel and Jon Goldberg-Polin’s son Hersh was kidnapped from the Tribe of Nova music festival on October 7th. Since that day, Rachel has become the face of the international effort to bring home her son and all the hostages – meeting with world leaders, giving countless interviews, and speaking at the UN. “I am doing exactly what any mother would do if this were their child,” Rachel told the Wall Street Journal in February.

As we move into Pesach, the holiday of freedom and liberation, join us for this important opportunity to hear Rachel and Jon’s story and discuss what we can do to push for the immediate liberation of all hostages being held by Hamas.

The Webinar will be recorded.  RSVP HERE
