10:00 AM - 11:30 AMThe Temple Israel Brotherhood is very pleased to welcome Senator Pete Harckham, who represent the 40th District in the New York State Senate, to our next Brotherhood Breakfast.
Senator Harckham serves most of Temple Israel membership. His district includes Croton-on-Hudson, Cortland, Buchanan, Yorktown, Ossining, Briarcliff Manor, Peekskill, Bedford, Lewisboro, New Castle, North Salem, Somers and Mount Kisco as well as parts of Putnam and Rockland counties.
Senator Harckham was first elected to represent the 40th in 2018 and reelected in 2020 and 2022. Previously his public service included terms on the Westchester County Board of Legislators and in state government as the Assistant Director of the Office of Community Renewal and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for the Governor Mario M. The Senator is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environmental Conservation where he is pursuing an ambitious agenda in the areas of sustainability, recycling, solar energy and water quality. He helped lead the effort to keep Holtec from dumping radioactive wastewater in the Hudson.
Previously, he served as Chairman of the Committee on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse addressing the opioid crisis by doubling minimum treatment times and reducing barriers to life-saving treatment.
