Brotherhood Breakfast with Television Trailblazer Tom Rogers
Sunday, November 2, 2025 • 11 Cheshvan 5786
10:00 AM - 11:30 AMPlease join Temple Brotherhood in welcoming one of the great innovators of the modern media/technology world - Emmy Award winner and Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame member, Westchester’s own Tom Rogers.
As the first President of NBC Cable, Tom helped popularize business and news coverage through the creation of CNBC and MSNBC. As President and CEO of TiVo, which invented the DVR, he changed American TV consumption. Tom looks forward to talking about his career, his current activities, the changing media landscape, including AI, and how it impacts us all and, most importantly, having a great discussion with Temple Israel members.
Prior to these accomplishments, as the senior counsel to the House Telecommunications Subcommittee in Washington, he helped write many of the nation's key laws that governed the development of today's media industry.
During his tenure at NBC Cable, Tom oversaw the establishment of the National Geographic Channel, Court TV and Independent Film Channel, and served as co-chairman of the board of A&E Television Networks and The History Channel for 10 years. In addition, he oversaw American Movie Classics, Bravo and several regional sports channels.
Today Tom helps lead a number of innovative media companies, is an editor at large for Newsweek and is a frequent guest on Morning Joe on MSNBC and Squawk Box CNBC, among many other of those networks’ shows. He is also the Senior Advisor to Versant, the new public company to be spun off of Comcast/NBC which will contain the NBC cable channels and other media assets.
Temple Israel is very proud to welcome Tom.
Sorry, Registration has ended.
