Join Oren Neiman to explore Israeli music, focusing on songs that came out in times of conflict. Music can offer great insight into the mood of a nation. As we explore the songs of Israel's various wars we will also discuss the context of the historical moments in which these songs were created and how they reflected where Israeli's were as a nation during that time. These classes offer a good exploration of Israeli music, as well as some insight into Israel's history which might be helpful in understanding Israel's current moment.
A light lunch will be served. Please RSVP below to ensure enough food for all.
Some of the songs we will be exploring...
1. Hayeladim Shel Choref 73 (The children of winter 1973)
2. Shir LaShalom(Song for Peace)
3. Ein Li Eretz Acheret (I have no other country)
