Chag Ha’atzmaut Sameach!
Yom Ha’atzmaut is Independence Day for Israel and Independence Day for the Jews.
It celebrates the day when after nearly 2,000 years, we again became am chofshi b’artzenu – a free people in our land.
This year the holiday is celebrated beginning at sundown on May 8th.
Israel21c offers 12 ways to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut like an Israeli, such as recommendations for eating (including some nearby Israeli restaurants), drinking and a playlist of Israeli songs to get your Independence Day party moving.
You can download and follow a seder for the holiday in Haggadat Ha’atzmaut or Seder Yom Ha’atzmaut. Learn more about the holiday from My Jewish Learning. And don’t forget to sing Hatikvah.
